OPERATIONS & MAINTENANCE
The Operations and Maintenance Department of Cat Lake First Nation plays a vital role in the community's well-being and infrastructure management. Responsible for overseeing a diverse array of essential services, they manage the maintenance of roads, water lines, and sewer lines to ensure safe and reliable infrastructure. They also handle tasks such as hauling gravel, heavy equipment contracts, community clean-up, land clean-up, and the management of bio-cells for waste disposal. In the harsh winters, the department takes charge of winter road building and maintenance, making travel possible for residents. Furthermore, they facilitate fuel hauls, operate and maintain the community fire hall and firefighting services, manage the water treatment plant, and handle the hauling of materials for housing construction. In addition to all these responsibilities, the department provides crucial mechanical services for local vehicle repairs and the maintenance of heavy equipment, ensuring that the community runs smoothly and efficiently.
